Monday 8th June was spent mainly on the canals going into the canal system to take us to the north part on Birmingham. It continued back up the old Birmingham line, a canal in parallel with the BCN Main line but not straight with more turns and some locks and some nice areas and residential homes along it.

View of houses and waterlilies on one of the canals. |
We went under the Motorway system for several hundred yards and then through more locks into the Wednesbury Old Canal at Pudding Green Junction (I love some of the names).

The start of going under the motorway which was built over the canal and bridges both for foot traffic and vehicles. |

Locks on the canal beside the motorway. |
We continued up the canal slowly due to the rubbish in it and moored that night at Moorcroft Junction Bridge where it was wider.

The weather was windy, cold and cloudy, not a nice day at all. Martin turned the diesel heater on at night !!! in the middle of summer !!! We were able to stop near a Supermarket and filled up with water and diesel etc. There are not a lot of stops like this along the canals now.
